Project Ardan is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Mounds View that encourages environmental beautification and community engagement. Our mission is to steward green spaces in Mounds View for environmental sustainability and public enjoyment.
Our team joined together in 2023 after a proposed housing development threatened to destroy the forest wetland buffer of Ardan Park in northern Mounds View. The overwhelming community response and unity it brought to our city was an awe-inspiring experience!

Making A Difference
The City Council voted to shut down the proposed Ardan development on June 26th, 2023. Together, we had a huge impact in saving our wetland and neighborhood. We laid out a compelling case of why this land needed to be preserved and our voices were heard.
Trees Saved
With verbal approval from city staff, the developer had started marking the land and tagging our trees before the proposal was an approved project.
Animals Rescued
About 900 terrestrial animal species use wetland habitats of the United States periodically throughout their lives for breeding, foraging, or other activities.
Wetland Protected
Our Mission is to protect wetlands like Ardan Park and encourage smart redevelopment. We believe this land would be a perfect fit for an educational nature preserve with trails that connect the north side of our city. The Ardan Park wetland Buffer is part of less than 2% of the undeveloped land left in Mounds View.
Community Activated
There is power in numbers.
Citizens came together, neighbors became friends and friends became community.
Projects
We are just getting stated! Our team is excited to continue the process of expanding and protecting Ardan Park and the adjacent wetlands. We have submitted a park proposal, with trails connecting the north side of Mounds View. The City is currently pursuing wetland banking, native restoration, and trails!
